Longevity Island
The oldest people in the world live on the highlands of eastern Sardinia.
It is not known whether the genetic factor is decisive, but the socio-environmental conditions peculiar to the island undoubtedly play a major role. Healthy food, clean air, an active life and the absence of stress, along with very strong family ties and the social support they provide, all contribute to creating the ideal conditions for a peaceful and long-lived ageing, in an equal share for men and women.
This project is about these people and their lives between two world wars and a pandemic.
